Seeing as we’ll be spending a lot more time at home, we wanted to share our simple 4-step guide to Filter Brewing. We enlisted the help of Pat - or Ponsonby Pat as he’d like to be known from now on. The gist of it is that it’s a very simple but delicious way to enjoy your coffee at home. Cheers to that!
What you'll need
25g (about 5tbsp) of freshly ground coffee
400ml of boiled water
Step One
Place a paper filter in the cone and rinse with the boiled water. This also pre-heats the server.
Discard the water.
Step Two
Add 25g of freshly ground coffee into the cone.
Wet the coffee evenly with about 50ml of the boiled water and wait about 30 seconds for the coffee to ‘bloom’.
Step Three
Slowly pour the water directly onto the bed of coffee until you are 2cm from the top.
Pour in little circles to cover the coffee evenly and avoid pouring onto the side of the paper filter.
Step Four
Before the water drains through completely, repeat the pouring process with the remaining water. Grab your favourite mug and enjoy.
